Create a user avatar with name, age, location, work, marriage status, kids and hobbies. Tailor each part of your software to this end user’s needs & wants. This will help in developing each part of the software with the end user in mind.
Create user journeys
Draw it out or create mockups.
That includes every use case scenario. Ideally you would have a screen by screen mockup for each button, process or feature (even if some of these screens are duplicates of the other)
